October Kenya Trip...

Hello everyone!  Per my last Blog about Kenya...some things have changed which made it seem like right now wasn't God's timing for our trip.  I spoke with Joe and prayerfully we feel that Mid October is just better.  It will give us time to save/raise some support to cover the difference in plane ticket price, allow for our shots to fully sink in (even get round 2 of some shots), and most importantly we will get to be there for Fred's wedding October 21st in Mombasa.  All of these reasons seem confirmation that one little obstacle can lead to better things.  Joe and I are both swamped at work right now too.  God knows best and is in charge.

With this I wonder if you would prayerfully consider partnering with us in this Adventure.  We have not asked for any support besides that of money or items to bless the Kenyan community, children specifically.  We still feel that God will work it out to where we can.  The money that has already came in will still go to the children, we will not use that.  We both are in need of $500 more minimum to cover the extra expenses that the plane tickets MIGHT have BUT if we do not need that money we will donate that money to the 2 churches we are going to minister in and thru.  So if God lays it on your heart to give, it is a Win-Win.

Praying about Postponing...

Kenya Trip Update:  Joe and I are praying about postponing the trip until mid October.  We have had a snag with our tickets which raised the price causing the need financially to either raise or save up to make up the difference.  Of course God is in control and can do anything so we are praying and trusting Him for guidance.  Our thought is that if we don't need the extra funds for the tickets then we will bless those we come into contact with there in Kenya with the extra money.  We have both already received some donations directly toward blessing Kenyans and we will NOT use that money for anything but that but would love to be able to give more and do more. 

There are 2 other items that God reminded me of that may prove this unexpected set back to be providential.  One is that the shots are supposed to have a month in your system before leaving and we took them only 2.5 weeks before our original date.  We trust that God will keep us safe but maybe God is keeping us safe by allowing these shots to take affect.  Two is that Fred, whom we are visiting in Mombasa, is getting married in October and had months ago mentioned coming during that time but for some reason I had in my head September. 

Regardless of what is in God's mind, as His ways are not ours and vice-versa, Joe and I feel led to move the trip dates out approximately 1 month and ask some of our close friends and family if they would like to team along side of us as we try to bless Kenya in Christ's name.

Please continue to pray for us in this and many decisions and endeavors as we seek to follow Christ where He leads to reach who He wants us to reach when He wants us to reach them!
